Then, came a golden opportunity.《我是歌手》is a high-end, high budget singing competition organised by Hunan TV in mainland China. Unlike other high budget productions, 《我是歌手》is purely musical and no frills in its presentation. The contestants are all veteran singers, gradually eliminated on a weekly basis like a reality show. The competition boasts a live, world class orchestra, world class audio.
As a singer who focuses solely on vocals, 林志炫 seized the opportunity to show off his talent and he won. With that came a new album, new contracts and a market potential in billions.
I’m not sure how well 林志炫 will do in his career, but his well-deserved victory in this competition is a sign that 老天有眼. If only the mere mortals also go for singer’s vocals and not all the frills. Sadly, entertainment is essentially a frivolous business.
