不要告别

This is a very special song for me, probably because I’m a drinker. It was a most unlikely pop song as the music was written by classical musician 李泰详 and the lyrics were written by poet 三毛. I wasn’t aware of that when I first heard this song and fell in love with it at the tender age of 16. This song was later recorded by many other singers including Amei.

I can still vividly remember the cover on the cassette tape for this album. It was my first time buying an original recording. Cost me $4.20. What struck me about the recording were the haunting echoes and the clarity of Liu Wen Zheng’s immaculate pronunciation. The knockoffs were going for $2.50 back then.
