Stephen Hawking On Religion

by admin September 3, 2013 No Comments

It’s only politically correct to say that all religions are peaceful, all religions teach us to be moral beings. But the fact of the matter is, even my own religion – Buddhism, has been implicated in recent ethnic and religious violence in Myanmar. We must not forget that no matter how inclusive we try to be in any religion, it still boils down to “us and them” in reality.

If only we can establish a link between science and religion, acknowledging that something written thousands of years ago may contain errors and exaggerations, then perhaps, we will not only be able to do amazing things, but do them in a way that at least doesn’t harm.

‎”If science proves some belief of Buddhism wrong, then Buddhism will have to change.” -The Dalai Lama
