Local model Rebecca Chen recently posted a selfie with her friend at the SAF Yacht Club (picture above). They were having a wakeboarding session there and they were in their loud and sexy bikinis. A few hours later, she received a formal complaint from someone to Facebook accusing her posting pictures with “nudity” and “pornography” on Facebook.
We don’t know who the complainant is, but it’s obvious to all of us that he/she has no case. There are far more revealing pictures in our women’s magazines. But as I’ve mentioned before, fairness and common sense don’t always apply. In Singapore, the one on the moral high horse always has the right of way. Fortunately for Rebecca who is modelling freelance, there is no hard-nosed council or tribunal to answer to.
I have this to say to her:
“I hope you stand your ground and not give in to the bully for the sake of avoiding trouble.”
