Gambling On A U-Turn?

by admin October 7, 2016 No Comments

Mr Sim Wong Hoo is wrong. Singapore is NOT a no U-turn country. The government’s latest dramatic U-turn on online gambling more than sufficiently dispels Mr Sim’s unflattering statement.

According to our MSF minister, “a controlled outlet valve” as part of the regime to manage online gambling would be more effective, given that there would be punters who would try to circumvent measures that block access to illegal gambling websites.

To illustrate how dramatic the U-turn is, let’s do a quick recap.

OK. I’m convinced that the government knows what it’s doing. I’m interested in operating a “controlled outlet valve” for gamblers here. I’m ready to provide a safer space and adopt all “safety measures”. Where do I apply for a licence? Do you have requirements like the elected presidency as well?
